I want to merge two wordpress blogs into one, has anyone done this before? How do I go about it? I suppose backup one database and import it to the WP blog that is to remain?

Pretty straightforward only problem is post id's which are likely to overlap and will break the keying in the merged database. Easiest to update the id's in all tables in one database then merge the two. Will require some custom scripts / sql commands.

darkstar_tfd's link looks to do the job ... take note of the final point on that wordpress topic - export using XML and the post id issue I mentioned should be sorted (although I've never tried it myself).
Good luck. |
