Website of the Month: January 2008
2007 was fun year and many new good things happened here in UKWW community. Lets take the best of it into New Year 2008.
Terms for nominations in January contest are still the same:
- Any registered member of UK Webmasters World forum can nominate his/hers website.
- Website must offer unique quality content
- Content must be in English or have English version available
- Website MUST work properly in multiple browsers
- No adult or illegal content
If you nominating website please describe why it deserves to be chosen as "The Best".
You need to explain what value it represents to users and how it is different from other sites in your niche.
In December nominations only one person actually tried to describe value of his site.
Lets make it more interesting and nominate more quality sites.

I spent about 2 mins to think if it would be okay or not to list my site here, but I guess I have nothing to lose.
I nominate : J.Mihai - SEO and Webmaster news- Articles | J.Mihai
Its has unique content, articles written by me and also results of experiments and interesting announcements ( IMHO ). It would be more helpful for the webmasters and not the regular users. For the regular users I have another blog in a subdirectory but that is where I write in Romanian.
The design is unique, its made by me. I do not know how many of you appreciate the color scheme and the layout but I found them fit for my site.
I think its easy to navigate through the site, you can find the info you need fast. For almost all of my articles I have gave examples and arguments to sustain point of view.
Thats all,
Thank you

I would like to Norminate The Web Directory this month
This is my site and I am norminating this site because a lot of effort has gone into this site. I have also brought the directory to page one on Google UK. Submitting to the directory is easy, quick and user friendly.
Thanks

Hello,
I would like to nominate my blind spot site for the award.
It should be chosen as the best because it provides a break from the daily work of the busy online business man while "teaching" something new.
PS. It presents absolutely no value for the users, except as a break from daily routine.
PPS. This is my most successful website, even though I have not monetized it yet.
PPPS. I got 3000 diggs for this site
EDIT: Oh wow, that smily did not turn out as I intended.

I'd like to nominate Web Standards Design!
The site is niched around W3C standards in web design. The actual site passes XHTML
1.0 Strict validation (pages that don't are due to 3rd party scripts that monetize the
site - and that's ok ) but via PHP, the site is served as XHTML 1.1 to standards
compliant browsers.
PHP is the base for the site, which uses conditional logic to serve text links on the
main navigation area (sidebar.php) - based on what URL is currently being viewed.
Hum...I can't thing of anything else to say about it. I'm proud of it. Its my baby!

Martin, you probably want to correct little problem: you have text "web standards news feed" over your RSS icon. Most likely just missing tag somewhere...

Oops, thanks skinner! I'm using (forgot to FTP) CSS to move the
text off screen for accessibility (CSS off, screen readers, etc.):
Quote:
|
#rightsidebar a, #rightsidebar a:link, #rightsidebar a:visited, #rightsidebar a:hover, #rightsidebar a:active {text-decoration: none; background: transparent; text-indent: -5000px; font-size: 0; overflow: hidden;}
