Fasthosts had iframe attack?

BBC reported that thousands of Fasthosts customer were asked by Fasthosts change their password, the customers who did not change their password had the password changed for them by Fasthost, this brought massive disruption to small businesses who cannot access their websites.

I can sympathize with Fasthosts as we had to do something similar a few weeks ago at my hosting websites.

Wouldn't they have emailed their clients with "click here to reset your password"?

Don't quite know how they did it, whatever way they did it was not very good, thousands of customers were locked out of their accounts, the support was inundated and unable to come
