Default Fast2Host - where next?!

Hi, first post from a newbie. <waves>

I'm looking for a new host at the moment, and I thought I'd share my experiences.

I've had a forum site online since early November with Fast2host.com, on a shared hosting Linux package.

No problems until - it went offline on Saturday morning; it's now Monday morning and it is still offline!! There are tech support people available on the phone and have been all weekend, but they have not managed to properly explain it or even apologise. They tell me that "Linux is rubbish", it can't do what Microsoft can do, and that's why it takes a whole weekend and more to restore the data on a server which has had corrupted disks.

Turns out they've only been offering Linux servers for a year and they don't have any experience with it. I didn't realise that

I want to move asap, because I'm not even completely confident that they will ever be able to restore the site. I almost signed up with Heart Internet but just saw their bad reviews on here and now I don't have a clue whom to go with! Any suggestions gratefully received.

I recommend holdfire.net I've had no problems with them at all - their support is excellent! I've heard nothing but briliant things about site5.com too - best thing is their both affordable!
