I remember when image maps where cool! Then I "converted" to web standards
(and SEO) and found them horribly inaccessible and SE UNfriendly. But ALA has a great article on "modern" CSS image maps - with the use of standards-based XHTML and CSS, which which you apply a (low bandwidth) background image and AP (Absolute Positioning) to create a map. So, anyone use image maps anymore? |

Image maps are scripted and I am pretty confident when i say that the major SEs don't follow them. They also produce bloated code.
So that's 2 reasons for a start why I won't use them |
