How Often Do You "Recommend This Site"?

Have you ever read an online article, or visited a site, that
has a "Recommend This Site" email form that you can use to
message someone regarding the content on that particular page?
If you are not using one yourself currently, I wanted to ask
you all if you feel this is a good avenue for (social) marketing?

I have actually never ever used this feature on a site

I've used them (they have been around much longer than social network "icon" links)
when I've been on a PC other than my own, and wanted to bookmark a particular article
or site. I just send that to my address, and surf to it once I get the email on my PC.

And every web site has About Us link and never clicked before

I never ever use that feature and I am online ALL the time pretty much and have seen some sites that I have thought friends would like to see, but still not had the urge to use the recommend a friend button
