Squidoo? Anybody used it?

One question about squidoo, if you create a lens, and you do not actively promote it, will it get PR?

Speaking for myself I can say that I haven`t really promoted my lens as such, yet it still got a PR3.

My son created one just after me on Suzuki Carry vans, and he did no promoting whatsoever, yet on the last update he got a PR2. All he did was spent some time initially on writing up the text, and on occasions he`s added a few images.

I don't know, Teamplayer said he got a PR3 link from it without much promotion. My promotion has been commenting on other lens etc.

I imagine whilst PR won't be guarenteed, it would be easier than creating a page from scratch. I remember when Myspace first came on the scene you could get PR4-PR6 myspace accounts.

Let us know when it`s complete temi. Rating someone else`s lens can only do some good I reckon.

And don`t forget there`s potentially some income to be made from having a lens from either indirect Google adsense, or direct from sales of items which Squidoo set up for you linked to the theme of your lens.

Yes the best way to get lens' ranked and liked by others is by sharing and commenting on others lens. Maybe a Sticky - "Show your squidoo Lens' Here!" could be good for the forum

thanks for that suggestion about a sticky about squidoo lens, I will may put one up when I have a moment.
I have put a page up , its called Tipis and Yurts, I am hoping to use it to boost the ranking or an SEO project and I doing for a few clients.

BTW, its still work in progress, I will be adding more stuff to it. But if anyone want to link to my lens, I will link back to them

Why not write the owner a nice little begging letter and ask if they'd consider selling it? With it's current ranking it's probably earning them a few dollars a month, but they may be tempted by a fast buck! Then again, as it's their #1 performing lens they may not be interested at any price!

It's actually amazing that it has got such a high ranking, currently #503 overall I'm not sure which category it's in I assume travel so it'll be in the top 100 I imagine. The reason for my surprise is that it hasn't actually got much content, yet all the headings have "Llanfairpwllgwyngyllgogerychwyrndrobwllllantysili ogogogoch" as the heading so it's going to be getting some search engine love! (page 2 on yahoo, not on first 4 of google)
