SEO resources pool

A post OWG made in the staff forum and this post by clangallacher and this one by Bagi makes me think there is definitely a room for a mechanism where SEO consultants use their resources (blogs, links, expertise) to help one another when they are working on a new project.

I will not start this project, I will leave OWG to take it away since he has already set the ball rolling, if OWG does not have time to develop the project then I will be happy to move it forward in this forum.

In the meatime, if you will like to join this scheme, have suggestions etc, please update this tread.

Sounds interesting, I probably wouldn't be of much use. I'm more into programming than SEO. I'll be sure to watch this thread to see where this will be heading.

Noob accepted as long as you have resources you can share with other members, say sites you can place a link from, blog etc.

the system I am speaking of is the complete opposite of the link farming methods that are being built now and always have been. let me give you an example.

I have a really busy rugby forum, many of the members have blogs about sport rugby football etc. They network among each other and drive traffic between each others sites. They add their sites to their signatures etc.

in short, they promote each others sites as they are all related, and share the same sort of visitor.

I am an Ospreys fan, but I am also interested in what goes on in other regions in Wales, in England france italy, new zealand, australia South Africa etc. So I read their sites.

Some of them have specialist directories for niche sites, we promote each others sites through these directories, we add each others blogs to blogrolls, and, probably most importantly, we link to each others QUALITY content from within our blogs etc.

The result of all this is that the visitor gets to be able to travers good quality sites throgh links etc. it means that the neighbourhood is trusted, and the overall niche trust is huge.

What I am proposing is a network of trusted friends, who can pick up and run with each others QUALITY sites, content etc and do much the same.

e.g. Temi has a golf site, golf is a sport, the ryder cup is in Wales in 2010, his site fits neatly into some fo the stuff I am working on like Golfing in Wales UK (currently in beta mode) this is exactly the sort of site that temi would target for advertising or link trade, but the network would simply pick up his site and include it in the resources area, or in a blog post etc.

The main thing about this is that it will be invite only, and ONE HUNDRED PERCENT WHITE HAT! It is not a link farming club, it is not a Pagerank manipulation club, not a secret digg club etc, it is a network of quality professionals/amateurs who can help each other.

Hopefully, I'll get an invite too. This will coincide nicely with a few projects I have planned over the next coming months, where I'll be able to help out more.
