Why my indexed pages decreased ?

Hello

After creating my seocontest site, i got 8 pages indexed within 3 days .
but the very next day it became 1 and now only 3 pages.

I am sure i am not penalized as i did no link building or blackhat.

Anybody having same problem ?

new sites will experience this as they will not propagate around all the datacentres. Don't worry about it

Also, my rank was #69 and not >200 on google. is this the same Sandbox effect ?

It isn't sandbox, it is just normal behaviour for a new unknown site. There will be a lot of people chasing this prize, so you can't expect to stand still and keep your ranking. It will get harder as the sheer volume increases.

If you ever heard sandbox effect for new site (new domain) you will understand Google postpone same new pages on their data center, waiting for stable rank
