Some forums are so difficult to register at that I usually just give up. Apart from that, what else put you off registering at some forums?

I don't like registering at forums which ask for your date of birth. I know that on vB forums you can choose to hide it but I have been known to click away when asked questions like that at registration. If, I've needed to join the forum I use a fake DOB.

Personally I don't like phpbb, but I adore vbulletins. Currently I save up for an owner license.

I don't blame you

I'm very happy with my vB forums.

Once I installed a phpbb forum to the worst site on the net. I was very newbie that time, and nobody registered there.

From that thime I don't like phpbb, but I never said that I was normal man.

I fell exactly like you Joy, I know they need to ask for DOB just to ensure the person registering is not under ageed but yes, I have been know to fabricate DOB too

I absolutely hate phpBB too, its actually nice BUT you need to spend a LOT of time finding this hack or this mod to patch this and that up, once I bought my first vB , I have not touched phpBB again.

What stops me registering at a forum is poor content, aggressive replies, lots of spam posts being left in the open.

If the standard of forum is poor, I do not want to be associated with it.

oh and PHPBB POCKS LOL

(I think I should qualify that before you think I am arrogant, only when I argue with OWG, I am so pleased he now think phpBB POCKS, he gave me such a hard time when I said I wanted to convert this forum to vB from phpBB because he is such a phpBB fan, I sould I will see if I can dig out his post on the subject .... but after 2 year or so he now agrees with me that I am right.
But then again, I should not blame, OWG, he is an old guy, old people don't like changes, they are stuck in their phpBB

I hate error pages or slow pages. But the think that kills me about some forum is the text they use to verify that you are human. Some of them are illegible and you type them in, but it gives you an error - as if to say "you are a robot".

After two or so attempts I normally move on.
