Customise correctly and get more traffic

I have been trying to get this forum recognised as the new Boss Cart support forum without much luck in the past few weeks, the reason suddently occured to me yesterday......... I customised the message non logged in users to the forum see to include reference to Boss Cart and Bingo... this forum is now on page one for "Boss Cart Support"

I think forum owners tends to forget that what search engine spiders see and what logged in users see are different.

There is a hack for vBulletin which allows to create a usergroup for search engines and once they crawl the site they are treated as registered users, so they have more access to the site, and they are also showed in the users online list. (it's a standard feature on IPB, but you have to use a hack for it on vB).
vB already recognizes bots (although it has a small list of them, but it can be expanded) and automatically "logs them in".

I think you should put this hack on the list of things we need to do to the forum when we are less busy.

No problem. I'll research the way this hack works and add it to the site.
