I'm using vBSEO and I still don't understand what I should be doing with Linkbacks, Pingbacks & Refbacks!

Especially Linkbacks - at the bottom of the thread, it shows the referring link from the third party site. Can anyone and/or search engines see the link or is it just Admins? Should I approve the link or delete it? What's good for SEO in this case?
