Default Post count

Hi,

My post count is not stable, sometimes it goes down, sometimes it doesn't increase the total post sum after submission.

Is it normal to be like that? For example, I do have more than 11 posts but it is shown as 11 on my profile page

It depends of what forum you are posting to and the quality of the post. Posting at some forum does not count towards you post count for example this forum, also if you post to a long dead thread, you post will not be counted.

I'm just wondering, if there is a dead thread and the post is not moving up once we posted on a certain thread, why not delete that thread if it isn't helpful anymore to make our post move upwards..

I guess it'll be for SEO purposes. Imagine if one of the threads ranked highly for a phrase, and you searched for it and the thread was gone.

I think locking the topics is a great idea to be honest, as should the thread get high PR (my highest PR backlink is from a thread on this site), then you'd probably get flybynight forum posters leaving shonky responses and scarpering.

Of course, forum policies are in place that stop this, but it'd be a pain in the posterior to have 100+ "me too" and "i agree" responses on popular threads.
