Link exchanges is a good way, but also submitting your links to directories is usefull as well, but for the high PR directorys you have to pay for them.

My latest Link Building strategy is not to place links on general off-topic directories - for they won't deliver my type of user.

I hardly link out bcos I don't have to - why? My marketing is word of mouth.

Use a Recommend Us tool, it acts as a pure Vote - there's no better marketing than a personal recommendation, money cannot buy that!
