Smile How to display content on my site from an XML or RSS feed from another site

    Hi all,

Hope you can help. I am experienced with HTML and some basic database, PHP knowledge. For example I could understand instructions on how to install a forum!!!

I want to have content displayed on my site that comes from RSS or XML created by another site so that it is always updating. I would also like to be able to create a style for that content so that it displays correctly to my website style sheet.

Please can you tell me how I can do this? I have searched the internet for this and cannot find a solution. Is there a hotscripts style solution out of the box for this, or can someone help walk me through this?

My website is on a Unix Server.

    Thanks.

Benjam if the owner of the genuine content let (agree) you duplicate his/her content you may use any rss parser script such as magpierss, carp in order to solve the problem. My personal favourite is the rss fetcher, you may download it from this page.

I use RSS 2 HTML. It allows you to template your feed. I use it on a number of sites to display link lists. For example, I use it on Rhys Wynne to syndicate the top 10 links from my Bid Directory, thus adding value.

But I agree with Bagi. Be careful how much you copy due to duplicate content rules.

RSS2HTML is a great script I use that as well, but unfortunately has no caching capability and load very slow.
