Default Photoshop question

Anyone can tell me how to blur layer border in photoshop?

Here is my problem. I transfered transparent png icon to photoshop.

The edges don't look good because icon most likely was created on the light background and I need to use it on the dark background.

Any suggestions?

Thanks

Maybe can be useful to use a layer mask and a gradient to dissolve the border?

Post the image so we can see what is the problem and how to solve it.

Copy the section you want it blured to a new layer ( selection tool should be enought ) and after blur it will 4. Duplicate the second layer 3-4 times until it looks like you want.

If the blur section has "no space" to get some transparency, try to set by yourself some transparency till 60-70%.

try the smudge tool (set around 20%) on the edges.
