    Default How To Improve SERP's?

My site comes up on the top of page 6 in Google (Number 60) for the search term "Car Styling". How can I improve this?

Will having a sig in forums with Car styling in (like in this forum) help get my site ranked a bit better for that term?

Key to his is to get good content (non duplicate content)
-- Google loves it and indexes so fast that you don't believe it.

People keep saying this but what exactly is good content?

Do you mean guides and info such as in this section:

To improve you Serps you to have quality links (related would be even better) with your keyword anchor text, if you do it right you'll see results fairly fast

sounds good. I did used to have JoomSEF installed but it broke so i uninstalled it.

I have tried a couple of SEO tools but they were totally cr*p to be honest, didn't work at all.

Getting links is difficult. I use about 7 modified car related forums and have my sig with the anchor text as "Car Styling" but haven't really seen any results yet.

Yeah JoomSEF is slightly different from the older one i use called OpenSef i like it much more, you need to make your URL's Friendly for example

Redline Maxed - Car Sytling and Modifications - Installing In Car Neon Kits

    Needs to look like

    http://www.redlinemaxed.co.uk/Installing In Car Neon Kits.htm

You can do this with OpenSEF.

Second thing is install a sitemap if you havent got one ive included on in the download.

Sign up for google webmaster tools and submit your sitemap. (After you have set your urls with opensef)

The other seo tool rewrites Meta tages, Header tags and makes joomla's core a little better, this is customizable, personally i do the meta tag's my self and let the tool do the rest.

As for your content you should be fine with as long as it isnt copied from somewhere else.

Links are easy enough, have you try submitting to free Directorys ? every little helps. You can buy links for a good price from good sites. *cough*

But there is lots out there for you to have.

Anyway here are the 3 main mods i use and they work really well

    Hope that helps mate

Brilliant. Thanks for all your help. I think i have had JoomSEO installed at one point. I have a feeling i replaced it with JoomSEF though.

I will install these things and see what happens now though.

Alos, i used Vigos Gsitemap to generate a sitemap and upload it to Google but ill have a look at yours.

There seems to be an error in the opensef RAR file though. Thanks anyway though, much appreciated.

not sure about the error mate ive just downloaded it and it works ok,maybe a slight glitch try again and see what happens.

Yeah mainly all you need to do is get OpenSef working rename them URL's and the component one's too. Then get links to your site for that keyword. Once you done that you'll start to see a difference. If you need help post here again and either myself or someone else will help out
