Using Canonical Domains to Sabotage Competitors in Google

Hello guys,

last week my website was down for about 4 hours, I checked it wasn't my p.c. with an oline monitor report I've mysteriously been signed up for.

This got me thinking back to something someone told me years ago about how if you submit someones site to google loads of times it knocks it down the pages...

If I enter my web site in the address bar without www it arives without www
If I enter my web site in the address bar with www it arives with www

Should I be concerned about this, will it leave me open to sabbaotage or should I not worry, it's an interesting subject and surely it must go on :armada25:

What you need to do is add this bit of code to your HTACCESS *assuming you are on an Apache server) Replace yourdomain with your actual domain of course.

Options +FollowSymLinks
RewriteEngine on
RewriteCond %{HTTP_HOST} ^yourdomain\.com
RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://www.yourdomain.com/$1 [R=permanent,L]


This will prevent any canonical issues.
