How Is Your Social Marketing Conversion Ratio?

I was wondering if your traffic is converting as you realistically expect
from social marketing? If not, I wanted to ask you what you feel is hampering
that specific traffic from buying/opting in? Are you even in a niche where
the social media is going to give you relevant visitors?

I do not use social marketing for my ecommerce website, thought its part of my marketing strategy for 2008, we will see how successful social marketing is for selling golf equipment, I am not expecting any direct sales but I am hoping I will be proved wrong.

I belive social marketing would be more useful for informational sites that ecommerce, but who knows... If someone points you to the site where you can buy quality product for the cheaper price - why not???

I strongly feel that the traffic from social sites does not convert, they are best to getting backlinks unless coming from a related niche targeted towards your site.
