Opt-in Email Newsletters

If you're like me, you have subscribed to many different email
newsletters from trade websites that you frequent. I admit that
some of them were opt-ins that needed to be made before I was
able to read a section of a site, or before I was able to download
a plugin.

Of coarse, some are trash, and I opt-out pretty quick, but I
have found some real gems as well. So I'd like to ask you all,
how many newsletters do you subscribe to, and did you purposely
subscribe to them, or were they an option before you received
something?
