How many of you use geomarketing creative tools to generate sales/leads?

I am hearing of geomarketing creative tools for the first time, how does it work, what vendor provide that tool?

Hi Temi,

A geomarketing creative is used for most part by online dating companies that recognize the end user's IP country, region and city in some cases.

For example:
Looking for a friend in "Canada"

I believe that tool is done in asp but not 100% sure.

For example: Adultfriend finder

Ahh,
Now I know what you mean, I know it as Geo IP , we have it on some part of this forum, it recognises the country you are coming from by your IP address.

Would that also include showing your ads only in certain countries, states, cities, that type of thing.

I use Yahoo Publisher in a very small way. With them they give their clients the option to show their ads in specific locations. So, for example, the products I sell on my sites are mainly only for sale in the US, or sometimes the US and Canada. It would be a waste of money if I advertised all over the world, so, I narrow it down to just North America, though I do have a page which is directed to products available in the UK.

If, however, I had a site which only sold products, or more likely services, say dog grooming, or a cleaning company, then I`d want to narrow it down even further, say to a particular city. That way my ads would be targetted to a specific audience which represents better value.

Team Player, the option you described above is available in AdWords as well, I suppose its got to be in all PPC platform or else advertisers will wast an awful lot of money targeting the wrong country.

Yes, of course, temi, it`s a while since I used Adwords and I`d forgotten that.

Although targeting countries is possible, I`m not sure it can be narrowed down to individual cities though with Adwords, or can it do you know?

TeamPlayer, yes, you an now narrow it down to particular region, say England, or Wales etc, I have not used it recently either but I believe you can even target cities for example Birmingham with Adwords this days.

I use Adwords and yes you can target a country/city etc which it does keep the cost down,i would like to use yahoo but as i understand it you can only use it if you are State side but i stand to be corrected on that one as i think it is a little cheaper than adwords.But i am more that happy with the setup that i have at the moment.

Miva is another one i have looked at,i signed up with them a couple of weeks back and they have sorted my advertising campaign all i have to do is fund it and we will try and see if that works.
