Hackers and Web hosts

Hi

There are thousands of hackers out there with their own websites.

I have seen sites been hacked and hackers leave a message behind stating hacked by domain.com

Is there no control over such sites? Is hacking a site not illegal?

I am sure their host do not know they are hackers, most if not all hosts make you sign that you will not let you hosting space be used for illegal activities

I'm sure they are capable of running their own servers though tbh.

There's some site that lists all the sites hacked by a particular user I'm sure that must be illegal else their living in a loophole - my site was hacked once so its up . They only changed the index pages though - thankfully!

At a point in the hosting process, they will need access to www, ALL backbone providers absolutely forbids hacking, warez etc so they cannot possibly host their site independent of all routes to the internet
