Default He said visit Google

Another thread at a different forum was a new member asking a question on a forum.

A senior member replied "Have you searched Google before posting this thread"

Now what is the point of a forum when you are asked to search in Google

Maybe I do not want to google something or maybe I just am not happy with the results google returned for me.

That is why I use forums, to find out things google does not know.

If a forum has the answer to a issue, traffic will come to the forum when someone does a search in Google.

Maybe but everyone started to post against him and he did not reply back to say it was a mistake, so I think he really meant Google

very true - I always find it best to say "I've searched on here/other forums/google" - just to stop people saying things like that.

With all these PAID LINKS and SERP manipulations it's so hard to find good info on Google

As for myself I would prefer no answer at all than a smart a$$ "google it".

Yes as a forum support person sometimes you are getting frustrated when question has been asked and answered many times but there comes new member and asking the same question in his first post...

This happened to me on another forum but I tried politely suggest to search the forum or even post a link to the thread with the answer.
