Could someone give a small description of what link buying entails? I don't think I really understand it... do you simply pay someone to put a link to your site on their site? Is that all there is to it?

It is one of the most popular and simple way of link building, if you have the money to invest in link build. You can get alot of good relevant link without sweat which I believe is better than link exchange.
