What put you off registering at forums

It is so difficult to register at some forums that I usually just give up, I can understand that they are trying to prevent spamming but when it get too diffucult that genuine forum users give up, I think such forum should reconsider.

What puts you off registering at some forums?

Well, I usually lurk as a guest on forums and if I like them I register.
If my mind is set to register on a forum I just do it. No matter how annoying the spam protection might be.
But I understand that some people would just give up if the process is too complicated.
