Alexa.com Site Rankings

Is anyone aware of changes made to the site ranking criteria at Alexa? My site has fallen off sharply since December even though my traffic and unique visitors has increased regularily since July. I've made no major site changes and can't figure out why Alexa no longer tracks my site at all (no new traffic stats since December). I don't get it.

I've tried to contact Alexa but still have no response. Anyone have any ideas on the matter?

Alexa ranking is not a reliable measure of site traffic for example it does not record visitors using AOL or visitor who does not have Alexa browser plugin so if the increased traffic to your site is from those two groups Alexa will not record it.

It's not that it's not recording increased traffic, it's no longer recording any traffic at all since December.

I see what you mean Ken, Alexa is F***ed up at time, I have two site that Alexa recoded same details for as well, anyway Alexa is really not worth bothering about since you have a superior traffic measuring tool on your site; site logs

It's too bad because I liked knowing (at least somewhat) how my site measures up compared to others. Is there another similar tool out there?

As far as I know there isn't another Alexa like tool out there.

My site wasn't in the database at all, not a big fan of the popups either but thanks anyway Paul
