More than 2,000 people who oversee the workings of the net around the world are gathering in Brazil.
Policy makers, activists and officials are gathering in Rio de Janeiro for the second Internet Governance Forum.

The UN-backed body aims to give those involved in developing policies for the net a place to air problems and hear about others have succeeded.

Sessions at the four-day forum will debate security, international domains and control of core net functions.

There is surely a lot going on in Brazil with this conference.
Wlll we be taking a step backwards if we lose the right to exchange views, information, web sites and so on, with incoming new mainly European legislation being proposed recently? (Given that the majority activity is porn related, (75%?), with a smaller number of pro-terrorist posts).
I remember the CP/M days, when it was all black screens and green or yellow text posts. Are we losing out on our potential here?
