Default Bid for position to be more popular?

In the last few days, I have been selling more inclusion in bid for position directory than my main directories.

I wonder if in the long run bid for position will be more popular than traditional directories.

What do you think?

I think they are good now but in the long run they won't be popular.

Great minds Temi, I asked the same question a few days ago. Yes it seems the Bidding Directories are making good progress and becoming very popular.
I think one key plus they have is you can up your bid at any time should you want to stay on the front page listing.
Not sure if they will ever replace the regular directories but i do beleive they will be the more popular choice.

Mrcrawley, you need to see the kind of money people are paying to be on the homepage of bid for position directory, you can buy a whole traditional directory for some of the sums.

Quite a few things makes BFP better than traditional direcories:
  1. The categories are flat, you are always just one folder from the homepage
  2. You can get to the homepage if you bid enough
  3. You have your own dedicated page
etc etc

Actually MrCrawley.... I will stick a bid for position directory on a subdomain of my directory if I were you, quite a few people are doing it now... cost you nothing and I bet you will make at least $100 in the next one month.

the formats I have come across are something like http://bid.domainName.com when you send accept or rejection email from you traditional directory, you just mention your bid directory, most of the time, people will buy a link.

Give it a try, it wond cost you any money

Midlandi, I agree, they will never replace the traditinal directory but they will certainly become more and more popular....... they are also great at raising money for directory owner for example at Erinbar Link Bid - Home , i was the link leader someone camed and got over me, when I saw it i came back and added more money.... if anyone should out bid me I will do the same, you cannot do that with traditional directories

Does your hosting come with ability to create sub domains? if it does, just ask your hosting company for help on how to set it up. You may not be able to set it up from cPanel
