Textual Confirmation protects your phpBB forum from spam registrations
Right so my forum just hit another couple of keywords on google's first page , Great im thinking ! But since then ive been getting so much crap and spammers it's unreal .
Ive enabled email confirmation with stops alot of them but they still have a weblink in there profiles which i delete , but its starting to get on my nerves is there anything else you can think of that would help ?
the only thing i can think of is Admin approve all signups but i dont want to go down that road really.
It's always been fine until the site got more popular, ive evan had to put another moderator on so they can help with it.
Dont get me wrong it's not 100's of junk its only 2 or 3 over night but some of the pictures they put on are graphic and there are quite a few youngsters that visit my site ?
Any help would be great...
Just to they are finding my site through normal search terms and not the normal "phpbb" footer search.

Another good tip is to add more "required fields" in the registration page.
This will help stop the bots from registering, as bots can now bypass image verification and reply to confirmation emails too ! using there own OCR software...
