How to disable PHPSESSID

Google and other search engines are indexing my sex shop site with session ids in the urls.

eg.
index.php?cPath=44 becomes index.php?cPath=44&osCsid=7c7cb5860092c0149c27bc44 a09d8ad1

I know this does not help my site at all and will lead inevitably to duplicate pages being indexed. Pretty sure it has already.

Does anyone know of a work around so that when googlebot and other bots enter my site they do not get the session ids?

I searched around an found this Disable PHPSESSID | RagePank SEO but the method described here doesn't work.

Please help.

I guess you will have to enable some mod rewrite and htaccess combination in order to use search engine friendly URLs.

I'm sorry i have just realized PHPSESSID is not specifically my problem its osCsid specific to my shopping cart script.

Not sure if mod rewrite will work on my site but i will look into it later thanks.

If your site is hosted at an apache server, I suggest you to find a smart programmer since i guess your script will work very fine after implementing modrewrite.
