Site submission to thousands of site

I wonder if I am missing something here. Submitting site to thousands of buletting board, FFL and web directory seem to be quite popular, I would have though submitting your site like this is a very low value way of promoting your site but it seem to be quite popular with some people.

Has anyone use this promotion methord and get a good result?

I think there are different level of site promotion, and this kind of promoting is not the peak of the profession. This method is usually effective to speed up indexing. I also submit sites into free directories, but now I know that this is not the best way to increase google trust.

I share you analysis as well Bagi, most of the link are very poor qulity, like you said, you cannot earn Google trust that way.

Are links from seo frendly web directories is bad? I submitted my site to 800 directories manually and spent about two months. I did not use any automated submittion. So why shouldn't Google trust my site?

You have done it correctly, I was referring to people who use automated submission software that submits to lots of pooer quality sites.

Thank you. And what can you say about links from forums? Do they have any weight for Google? Especially if there is not a serious context in that post, only a couple of words.

Links from forums even signature from forums are treated link any other links. Even if there is no serious contents in the post yes, its still a link.

There is no doubt that link exists. I told about how high Google rank such links. Google doesn't want to count much more serious links than links from forums.
