iPods rescues Apple

iPods are proving a hit with investors and consumers
Apple Computer has reported a 50% jump in fourth-quarter profits, driven by demand for its iPod music player.
Profits in the three months ending 25 September were $106m (£59m), from $44m a year ago while sales totalled $2.4bn, the highest level for nine years.

iPods have definately been "The Thing To Have" recently. I don't like them very much. I'm sure anyone who put their mind to it for about 1/2 an hour could design a better MP3 Player. Like all Apple products they look great but are awful to use. That wheel thing is useless...

I agree, They are too expensive and the wheel thing is hard to use. I would have no need for one either.

Sony and other manufacturers are jumping on the band wagon so we can expect to see price drop soon

I wouldn't mind the price if i felt it was worth it. But IMHO they're badly designed products...i'd rather pay more for something that works well than less for something i don't find easy to use/doesn't work....

I though iPod was cool, I have never used it but I see cool looking pictures of iPod ever where, so its the picture that is cool not the product itself?
