There has been talks of blogs making forums redundant when blogs started becoming popular, there is really no evidence of that, number of forums actually seem to be growing.
I think one of the reasons blogs cannot make forums redundant is that blogs, whilst you can comment on a post, does not offer the interactivity forums gives. Has anyone come across a forum that packed up because of competition from blogs?

I actually don't use, read, visit or understand the blogs and the blog concept. I just don't see nothing in it. Forums on the other hand are more interesting

Personally,aside from any seo benefits, i prefer forums, they are more interactive.
Plus you can get better help from them.
