I have been trying to build links to this url: http://forums.ukwebmasterworld.com/g...on-forums.html
its a horrendously long URL, not surprised that some directories form will not support url this long which makes me wonder what the official maximum characters in a url is according to whoever sets standards for such things?

I don't know if there is an "official" length, I've seen URL's 400 or 500 characters in length. But, the domain name does have limitations, depending on the TLD, I think .coms are 64 maximum characters.
I think as far as submitting to directories is concerned, it depends more on the script that the directory is using, or what limitations the directory owner has set. |
