Try not to pay for hosting!

Ok, this sounds slightly crazy, but I have always avoided paying for my hosting at ALL costs. (Joke there :grin: ) I've had as much as 10GB space, 15GB bandwidth for not one penny! In fact, this host was the best I've ever used!

Search google for "free web hosting forum," and/or "web hosting forum" and post sponsor requests on some forums. Only post on forums that allow this. The smaller hosting companies WILL normally respond.

Wait a while until you've had a few responses and then pick the best one. If they seem to desperate, they're probably not a great bet, but if they're good pitching you're normally safe.
