Default UK Webmaster Forums Forum Policies & Guidelines

UK Webmaster Forums Forum Policies & Guidelines
Though vast majority of post comply with UK Webmaster World posting rules and guidelines but a tiny minority require moderation. If you see a violation of one or more of these guidelines, please report it by sending a PM (Private Message) to Temi or any administrator or moderator. Be sure to include information about the post as well as what forum the message was on (the easiest way is to copy the web address from the browser and paste it into the message). We will attempt to act on all reports as quickly as possible. It is the community itself that sets the "mood" of each forum and therefore the site as a whole, so please post responsibly.

    General Guidelines

The following guidelines apply to all forums on UK Webmaster World Forums. Additional rules and topic outlines specific to each forum or group of forums can be found following this list.
    • Please try to keep the post on topic, if it drifts too far and is spoiling the original topic, it will be moved, If you think it needs to, then just post that you are starting a new topic in 'whatever forum'.
    • No personal attacks or flames. This includes, but is not limited to: insulting others for their comments and ideas, language skills, age, sex and religious beliefs.
    • No offensive racial or sexist remarks.
    • No offensive slurs regarding anyone's religious, sexual, political, ancestral heritage, or racial status. This includes both direct and indirect insults or accusations.
    • No spamming. This includes, but is not limited to: comments not contributing to the board, advertisements, cross posts, and messages posted repeatedly.
    • No explicit content of sexual or violent nature. This includes links or URLs to sites containing such content.
    • No personal attacks against forum moderators. If you disagree with an action taken by a moderator, you can send a PM to Temi and it will be reviewed. If the person you diagree with happens to be Temi, a senior memeber of UK Webmaster Forums will be appointed to look into you complaint.
    • No intentional attempts to bypass board mechanisms. This includes intentionally working around the board profanity filter (if active) or working around bans. Attempts to do so may result in bans or an extension of exiting bans.
    • Multiple registrations are not allowed.
    • Do not post messages, send to you via PM in the forum, messages send via PM are intended to be kept private so respect other members confidentiality.

    Penalties

Board admins reserve the right to ban individuals from posting without warning, depending on the severity of the offense. In most cases, a general warning may be issued to all posters. Then, if that fails to correct the problem, a warning to the specific offender may be given. Banning may or may not be permanent, depending on the severity of the offense. If you would like to discuss the reasons behind a banning, or would like to appeal your banning, feel free to contact send Temi a PM, this is the only course of action available that is acceptable. Posting a challenge on the forum may result in immediate suspension of your account pending review.

We do not like having strict guidelines, but we feel we now must have them. Bans may seem harsh, but lets be bloody honest many of us are going to be pissed posting so sometimes it is better to disable an account until the next day or whenever things have calmed down.

    Have fun and post lots

    Legal Stuff - 6th October 2006

    1. You warrant that the material you submit is not obscene, offensive, defamatory or otherwise illegal.

    2. You agree not to post material that is deliberately intended to upset other users.

    3. You acknowledge that any breach of these warranties may cause UK Webmaster World Forums damage or loss and agree to indemnify and hold harmless UK Webmaster World Forums in full and permanently against any third party liabilities, claims, costs, loss or damage incurred by UK Webmaster World Forums as a result of publishing any material you submit to us, including consequential loss.

    4. In the case of any content that you feel might be defamatory or libelous, you agree that should you take issue with any content published by a member of this forum, you MUST approach them first stating your complaint in detail and suggesting the action you would like taken. Simply asking them to remove the post is not acceptable, unless the WHOLE of the post is at issue. The moderators of this forum will not take any action until the offending member has been approached and refused to take action. (this does not affect their ability through choice to moderate any content they feel requires it) . If the member has acknowledged and refused to take action, then and only then, upon receipt of copies of the private message correspondence will we take action to remove the allegedly offending material.

If this procedure as laid out above is not adhered to, then the forum will refuse to enter into any correspondence.

    5. The instigation of legal action, including threat or inference of legal action will result in termination of account with instruction that you are not welcome to view or post on this forum. Any future use of this forum using forum resources, will be deemed to be illegal and constitute theft, and notice of your actions will be sent to your Internet Service Provider, insisting that they prevent you from illegally accessing our content (this will likely result in your account being terminated by them) . Also legal action may be taken to gain an injunction preventing trespass and the theft of our private resources.

    6. Anyone posting on this forum after the date and time of this post is deemed to have read, understood, and accepted these amended terms and conditions of use.
