looking for a script..

does anyone know a specific FREE script to run a toplist type site where visitors can rate various sites? (and/or post an example of it in action. I don't want the type that shows banner listings..just a text style directory, with ranking.

i have looked around hotscripts and can't find anything :-(

Perhaps you need to create your own, a script matching your requirement may not exist

thats true, perhaps i should be looking for a site i like first...and then find out what script it employs

That is an excellent way to proceed , also sometime you may find something that is not 100% what you are looking for but with a few tweaks it could become adequate. Good luck

I am currently having some scripts written as there are none that do the job available. One of them is really exciting me, as I have a trialled the concept using a manual system, and it was AMAZING in how viral it became. Had to pull it quickly though to stop the idea getting out

Which was one of the reasons I excluded robots from all the pages Didn't want them dirty Idea muggers grabbing the cahced versions

Assuming I actually understand the question, similar options are available in CMS's such as phpnuke, pn, XOOPS, Mambo, etc., and are usually under modules named weblinks or something similar.
