Volunteers based search project to take on Google?

So getting back on topic.......

The about page doesn't give much detail about how it works, but looking further into the site it seems the crawling is done through distributed computing, but the index is held on a central server/servers.

Agree with you Rob, they really need to do a bit of "tiding up" including making it easy to help with the project without the need to join their form and having nice search interface on their website etc etc but its a promising project
