I've started using prase.com it's great for seeing who your competitors are by PR without having to click on each one. I'm not convinced it is entierly accurate yet, but it's probably just bedding in. Certainly worth a look though!

More search engine to come in 2006, I have read about two new search engine been launche today. The first one is Navisso.com Search Engine and the second one is P.R.A.S.E. (Page Rank Assisted Search Engine) P.R.A.S.E. is designed to eliminate duplicate results and streamline the process of finding link partners when building for SEO and it will search Google, Yahoo, MSN and organizes results by page rank. PR means almost absolutely nothing, these days.

Why do you say that? As i've built my PR i've seen my sites rise in the rankings. What would you say is a better measure ?

When you build links PR gets voted to your site. But it is not the actual PR that does the business is ranking you it is the links themselves, or more importantly the anchor text and relevance of those links.

The bottom line is the only way to measure the success of a website.
Seriously though, I have PR2 pages that rank much higher than my PR5/6 pages. I just can't lend PR credence any longer.
