I've started using prase.com it's great for seeing who your competitors are by PR without having to click on each one. I'm not convinced it is entierly accurate yet, but it's probably just bedding in. Certainly worth a look though!

PR means almost absolutely nothing, these days.

Why do you say that? As i've built my PR i've seen my sites rise in the rankings. What would you say is a better measure ?

You should consider it a coincidence.

So what do you figure is the best measure of how your website is doing?

Not often I disagree, but it is only a semantic disagreeance anyhow. PR is a side effect of linking. It is almost imposible to build links without upping your PR (remember that PR is not a whole number . e.g pr 3 could be anything from pr3.0000000001 to pr3.99999999999)

When you build links PR gets voted to your site. But it is not the actual PR that does the business is ranking you it is the links themselves, or more importantly the anchor text and relevance of those links.

Look at your bank account. That's a pretty good measuring stick.

Wahay, Paul and I are 100% back in agreement.

The bottom line is the only way to measure the success of a website.

Seriously though, I have PR2 pages that rank much higher than my PR5/6 pages. I just can't lend PR credence any longer.
