Default Google and Microsoft settle row - season of good will?

Microsoft and Google are locking horns in China
Google has reached an out-of-court settlement with Microsoft after the two companies clashed over a controversial appointment in China.
Microsoft sued Google, claiming it had violated non-competition agreements after its hiring of Kai-fu Lee to head its research operation in China.

it's turnign into a global war between these two. If yahoo doesn't try and get in on the action it could see itself gong the way of lycos.

Yahoo is actually the biggest search engine on the planet (market share). They are a couple of points above Google. MSN is a tiny little player.

Share of search market. Yahoo is around 48% Google 47% with the others getting the rest.

The difference is though that Google delivers a shedload more traffic with its share than Yahoo does.

In the UK Google has about 70% of search share though, it is Much higher than the rest of the world.

I thought google was above yahoo in marketshare.

Isn't google usually the first webpage most people see when they log onto the net (homepage)? Also, I think more people know about google than yahoo - you know PR?

In the UK Google is far and away ahead.

Many people use BT/Yahoo, or they use the yahoo portal facilities. In these cases it is yahoo that is searched.

As for more people knwing about google than yahoo well the stats don't lie do they. Yahoo has been around a lot longer, and also owns all theweb, altavista etc. These all count towards the Yahoo! marketshare stats.

Anyone hear the rumor, Google may be releasing its own computer, with an OS of its own, with a price tag right under $200?
