I hear they're having a mild disturbance.

It has been going on for more than a week know! I was wondering the same thing! Why now?

it's more than a mild disturbance from what I hear.
My guess is that it's been brewing for a long time, and now it's blowing steam.

there's only been a few clips on the news (the uK news is horrible for world wide coverage, but even CNN hasn't really been coveringt he event).

Generally, lots of immigrant workers living in slums on the outskirts of paris are getting very mad and rioting. I heard an attack on two local girls started the whole thing.

there's a lot of ugly stuff going on over there. it seems to be on the news more and more.
seems that immigrants started getting tired of being opressed and disconsidered. truth is that most immigrants do lead a rather poor life and don't really get equal oportunity in france. funny though, this was reported to be totally different in the past, by french authorities.
who knows where the truth lies. I don't approve of the way they're trying to change things though. I heard of a child and also and old man that were killed, these are innocent people.

Really, the thread was a dig at Chirac, who ridiculed the U.S. after Hurricane Katrina, which was a NATURAL disaster.

they've free health care in france. How's that goign in the USA? lol...

I read on the news they've instated the state of emergency.

I'm just waiting to see if they get to martial law and put the army on the streets.

The french are living proof socialism is a failure ("free" health care sux).
