An Australian man who put his entire life up for sale on the internet has had to restart the auction after fake bids pushed the value of his home, job and friends past the £1 million mark. Ian Usher did not activate a registration system that would have only let genuine bids through.
24 hours after the seven-day auction started he was celebrating with champagne as offers on his life soared to astronomical levels.
But when the former carpet store assistant called up the bidders, they all backed out.
