.htaccess file

I have been adviced to upload a .htaccess file with the following entry: "AddType application/x-httpd-php .php .html" to my new domain space to allow php (MySQL) functionality inside a "normal" .htm page. It is said to be better to save files as .htm than .php with regard to SEO.

Please share your experience with me...

Hey Lala,
Nice to see you. I have come across the advice you were given at many SEO forums before, personally, I do not think file extension matter much as long as its a clean url such as (for example) lala.html, lala.htm, lala.php, lala.asp or whatever as oppose to lalapage_type=catalog_products&type_id[]=388.php

I agree with Temi, is the content is easy to crawl for spiders you don't need to change the file extension. If you do so your site need to be completly reindex which can be helped by .htacces redirects, but don't think you should handle with this.

I have to pass one parameter in the url (products.php?id=22) for the product catalogue template page. Do you think this cause problems?

My whole site works now this way and all pages are indexed well AND found in Google
