Ways to top the SERP's

How can i
get to the top of SERP's for a particular keyword and surpass the others for a particular Keyword ?
I think:
* Making 10 sites on the same niche concentrating on the same keyword for them all and adding regular backlinks to those and thus killing competition
*Reciprocal Submissions with some high PR directories and make sure that keyword is in the anchor text
*Permanent listing on Yahoo and Google

Can someone else share their thoughts?

Link build with correct anchor text and write good unique keyword rich (but not to rich) content, and when i say link build the more relevent to your subject the better, directory submissions are ok but you'll never been related on topic links, they look more natural.

Why with some high PR directories ?
Why not just with some hight PR sites ?
Or why not just with some hight placed ( in SERPs ) websites , related to your content ? ( this would be actually a link exchange ). If you are still going to sacrifice the value of the link by doing this , at least do it as you should.

IMO, increase your web presence and get relevant inbound links form similar sites. Sooner or later you should be in top 10.
