Has anyone use the search engine Altavista.com and what do you think?

I think it is a site owned by Yahoo

Used to be "The directory" in those days, its not not used much any more.

It is really good for checking back links and shows more back links then Google or Yahoo show.

Thanks for that info, never knew its calculate backlinks.... but I do not think it gets much traffic this days.

I agree, i think it does not receive much traffic, but i'm sure it can start do well if they started to promote again.

But they do not want to promote it.......... it was gutted and all the useful things from it was incorporated into yahoo
