Which search engine is the best? And let us know why?

Google is the best! Why? Because I use it!

Humor aside, I really don't have an opinion on this one. Truth to be told I use Google all the time. But when I have trouble finding something I turn to Yahoo Ask. I even once used Baidu (and it helped).
I don't use Google because I think it's the best. I use it because it's integrated with their news, mail, personalized home and whatnot.

I think it depends on what you are looking for really. For academic stuff, Google is the leading search engine, for multimedia, entertainment related Yahoo is the better of all the engines

Id say Google too , purely because i hate page's being cluttered and i like the minimalist style of google (just the search bar and nothing else) its what i want the search because i want the search not because i want to be sold something .

And the fact the Google gives more relevant results if you search correctly

i use only google but it has very bad filter about adul t.so the old search engines are better for this category.also lycos is nice.
