I did not submit my sites to Google; I just tried to get inbound links. Isn't that the right approach?
I am trying to improve my google ranking for some
keywords and my site on google (uk) uk pages only
One useful keyword for our site is 'motherease'
On google (uk) this brings up the following pages in
the rankings #8 and #14 which is great as they are
quite relevent.
http://www.babykind.co.uk/pottytraining.htm
http://www.babykind.co.uk/swimnappies.htm
But our most relevent page:
http://www.babykind.co.uk/mothereaseonesize.htm
is not even in the top 120! I am Not sure where it is?
Does anyone know why. Do you think that the above page
has too many of the keywords in close proximity -
could this cause the page to be penalised? There is
no spam intended - just links.
Any thoughts would be really appreciated. Thanks in
advance to anyone who takes the time to follow the
links and posts up some ideas - thanks.
PS We are indexed in google (uk) and would like to also be indexed in google (fr) and google (fi). Anyone any idea how to do this - Can I submit my site to each of these? Do I need to do this.
Cheers

Yes, this is the most effective approach.

I quit agree with Paul,
You actually do not need to submit your site to Google if you have links from Google ranked site, just get as many inbound links as possible, the anchor text from the inbound link is crucial though, pay attention to it.
Alternatively hire a pro like me to do it for you

Google using geo-location technology to decide how to populate the regional directories.
If you have a IP address in france or a french domain name you will appear higher.
I suspect you site is already in the regional directories just very low down.
If you add regional text such as the word "France" etc that will help you.
