China considers banning Google Earth
Google has always struggled to evolve in Chinese market by acquiring new companies, releasing new Chinese flavors of its products or signing deals with the local players.
The Pentagon has banned Google Earth teams from making detailed street-level video maps of U.S. military bases. Now it’s China’s turn.
Google Earth may get banned in the near future due to the fact that it shows too much information, making it available to the whole public.
I think those moves are quite harsh because let’s face it, which big military power in the world would take a peak on Google Earth to find more informations about a secret military base? For God sake, they have their own satellites…
