Ken,
Excellent idea you put forward, the only problem is the time to organise and run such a time consuming ring for nothing and like you pointed out, the main beneficiary of the ring are the less established forums, people with established forums like you and I cannot be bothered too much...

Well, even if a rule were created where new suscribers were bound to not only register but post 50% - 75% of their agreed quota then I'd be happy to get involved once again.

I know about 1 or 2 people who are interested, plus you and I that makes four. You are a senior member of this forum, why don't you start the post exchange v2.0 , create the rule and category as you like and run it, I will get the people who expressed interest recently to join and contact old members perhaps we can get a better one running under your new method.
Would you like to start the new exchange as another thread?

I'm going to bounce the rules around in my head a bit because I'm also considering a tiered link exchange program meaning you can sign up for a program such as:
- Tier 1: 10 post link exchange
- Tier 2: 20 post link exchange
- Tier 3: 30 or more, link exchange.
I'll also be asking a few of my programmer buddies if there is a simple way to link a signature to a db and possibly some sort of tracking software. I think if we're going to try and take this idea to the next level, we may as well do so in a manner that we can police and that actually ads incentive for the people involved.
For now, lets just leave it the way it is because I'd like to discuss the rules here and let everyone have a say in how to structure this program.
Ken

Make sure its simple, if its too complex, simple person like me may not
understand it

It won't be complexed at all, it will just add some depth to the program and make those involved, 110% aware of what their responsibilities are.
As for the signature and db tracking, this is something that would occur behind the scenes so all one would need do is used their assigned signature and it would track activity back to a db somewhere. I've seen this type of signature done numerous times before so their must be some info., somewhere on how to make it happen.

I don't think there's a snowballs hope in hell of getting it up and running as above in a few weeks so I'll put together the meat and potatoes to give us a starting point. We'll need to discuss and agree upon the terms in an open forum, that way everyone has input and it may also give us some insight into how to make this program a success.
With my PC being down, I have too large a backup to do everything I want to accomplish so the tiered posting idea is all I can work on for now.

I think you are confusing link exchange with post exchange. This thread is for post exchange only.
