I want to change my status in this program if thats possible. I'm more than willing to trade membership and posts with others but my criteria has changed.
I really liked the idea when you first started promoting reciprocal forum posting (forum exchange) but sadly, no one ever seems to live up to their end of the bargain. I think the only way that a program like this can work is if the members in the exchange are actually interested in each others websites and continue to post.
I hope this doesn't come across as a gripe but I really don't see a benefit in padding a memberslist as I did in the beginning. I also staff at nukemods and oddly enough, they have over 40,000 members and half the content of Lifesupporters.net that only has 128 members. Personally, I'm no longer interested in this type of exchange unless it's with someone who's willing to commit to visiting my site as regularily as I do theirs.
The above means I'm no longer interested in joining anyones site for a handful of posts and will no longer be joining anyones site until they've been active at Lifesupporters.net for a short period of time. In other words, if your willing to commit to my cause, you'll find I'm more than willing to commit to yours.
Again, please don't take this post as negative or pissy in any way, its sole purpose is so that everyone understands my reasons for why I limit my participation in this program.

Ken,
You are right, the best program is when you have many people participating but as you know, most people never fulfil their commitment.

Thanks for seeing it that way temi.
I think it wouldn't be too bad an idea to actually categorize the sites in this program and any webmaster who's interested in getting involved in a "longer term" reciprocal link exchange can simply commit to a category and a site (sites) in said category.

Good Idea Ken,
Please suggest what you want to call the categories and I will create them this morning

Personally, I think we should break this down into categories such as:
- family discussions
- webmaster discussions
- entertainment discussions,
etc., and list our links in appropriate forums.
Also, if someone is just coming on board and demonstrating interest in this program, chances are they run a newer and less established website than those of us who suscribed to this idea in the beginning. This is the main reason why any new post exchange members should be required to fulfil their quota prior to me even registering at their site.
Now, if your new here you will think I'm a total arse for stating the above but the simple fact is that I've registered and fulfilled my end of the bargain at a number of sites but have had very little content added to my sites. There's nothing worse than entering into a deal with someone, doing the work and receiving nothing in return, as I'm sure we've all experienced at one time or another.
I would also suggest some type of scoring system whereby any member involved in reciprocal link exchanges is rated off of their commitment to the program. What would be really cool is if everyone involved in this program had a signature linked to an external database that actually tracks where that member has posted, date, time and amount of posts made. What would be even better is if some sort of prize system was put in place as an added incentive to actually post.
Essentially, I think post exchange is a good concept but unless there's a way to track it, incentives, and firm rules set in place, it will never get off the ground and/or be a reliable system.
